About
Art has been my passion throughout my life. My artistic ability developed at a young age when I drew cartoon characters for my friends. Over time, I began to draw more subjects including landscapes, animals, flowers, and people. I took art classes in my spare time while I was in school, and received many awards from the state and contests.
After I graduated from high school, I was having a hard time finding myself as an artist. 2004 was the year I developed a passion for creating realistic artwork based on nature and flowers. My abilities and confidence further excelled after I transferred to Centenary University in Hackettstown, NJ, where I was able to continue my art education in many fields, including painting, printmaking, and photography.
Since graduating with a BFA degree from Centenary University in 2007, I have been working as a medical information specialist at a nearby hospital and on my own artwork based on my reference photographs of flowers. In addition to creating colored pencil drawings of flowers, I am also working on colored pencil drawings of people’s pets as commissions. When I see an excited reaction of my artwork, and having my compositions in someone’s home, it makes this journey a noble reward.
